A note from the General Manager

Hello everyone,

To say it’s been a “wet” start to the year would be the understatement of the century. We’ve seen enough rain lately to make us consider trading our golf clubs for kayaks.

I want to start by acknowledging our greenkeeping team. They have been nothing short of miracle workers. Their dedication is the reason we have such excellent course conditions, despite the incredibly challenging weather that has led to many local courses being closed since December.

Most importantly, thank you for your patience. We truly appreciate the support you’ve given us while we’ve navigated these disruptive conditions.

The Golf Season Is Loading…

The good news? There is light at the end of the tunnel. Spring is officially on the horizon, the ground is finally beginning to dry, and The Masters is just weeks away. Nothing signals a fresh start like the azaleas at Augusta and the return of longer, sunnier days.

Dust off the clubs – better weather is coming, and we can’t wait to see you back on the fairways.

Head Greenkeeper's Update

Despite continuous rain, the course is playing to an exceptional standard, a testament to the hard work and expertise of our team, and we hope you’ve noticed the improvements. We have focused on both infrastructure and playability to ensure a premium experience throughout the season.

Key Infrastructure Improvements:

Enhanced Access: New pathways have been installed around the 1st tee, along with upgraded bridges on the 9th and 11th holes.
Hydraulic Efficiency: Extensive ditch clearing has significantly improved water flow. This proactive drainage work has kept the course open every day this year and restored the 9th/18th pond to its natural aesthetic.
Irrigation Investment: This spring will see a significant investment in our irrigation system to protect the course this summer and guarantee long-term environmental sustainability.

Winter Play & Tee Maintenance: To protect the course for the peak season, our main tee boxes have been rested. Play is currently measured from the New Winter Blue Tees, which will remain in use through the colder months. We anticipate returning to the main teeing grounds on April 1st, perfectly timed for the start of the season.

Upcoming Events

Elevate your game at the Manager’s Invitational. We are proud to host our Monthly Scratch Swindle, held on one select Sunday each month. This competition is designed for golfers who relish the challenge of straight-up, off-the-scratch play.

The best part? No membership is required. We welcome all competitive golfers from the local community and beyond to test their skills on our course.

When: One Sunday per month (contact for upcoming dates).
Format: Scratch / Gross Score.
Eligibility: Open to all (Members & Non-Members).

Celebrating Excellence: Employee of the Quarter

We are thrilled to announce that Josh Anderson has been named our Employee of the Quarter for Q4 2025.

Josh’s journey is a testament to what can be achieved with hard work and the right opportunity. He first joined us through the USP College Supported Internship Program, where his talent and work ethic were immediately apparent. Since then, he has progressed into a full-time greenkeeping role and is officially set to begin his Greenkeeping Apprenticeship in March ’26.

Josh, thank you for your commitment to the course—we look forward to supporting you through your apprenticeship!

Coaching Milestones

A huge “well done” to Jack Wellman, who recently passed his Community Golf Instructor Course with England Golf.

This qualification is a fantastic achievement that allows Jack to further support our mission of growing the game and introducing new players to the sport. Congratulations, Jack!
